Gippsland WFC

Originally known as Gippsland Galaxy the club won back to back premierships in its first couple of seasons. In 2015 it accounted for AJAX in the Victorian Country Football League's East Division grand final with scores of 7.9 (51) to 2.2 (14). East Division was effectively a fifth tier competition. For 2016 the Galaxy found themselves elevated two tiers to Division Three in which they enjoyed success in all twelve matches contested culminating in a 5.12 (42) to 4.9 (33) grand final defeat of Fitzroy ACU. The 2017 season brought considerable changes to the structure of women's football in Victoria and Gippsland, now known as the Maroons, were consigned to South Eastern Women's Football Division One. For the first time in their brief history they found the going tough, winning just 3 of 12 fixtures to finish second from last on the seven team premiership ladder. Worse was to follow for in 2018 the side only managed a single win in once again finishing second from bottom.
